Peter Cat

Whenever we talk about Kolkata and more so about Park Street in particular, one legacy restaurant comes to mind which has been satisfying the food cravings of my fellow bongs since generations. And that place is Peter Cat. Its decor has remained the same since ages, signifying an era of colonial vibrancy with pronounced highlights of shade. But more than that its adherence to quality and the cuisine of nawabs is something which brings every fellow bengali back to this place again and again.

THE DECOR

Me and my friends visited this place at the time of Durga-Puja and as expected, this place was filled upto the brim. There was a waiting queue outside but we were lucky enough to have booked our table before hand via Zomato. Entering inside, we experienced the warm toned decor which set the mood to that of the colonial era when dim lights and stacked tables were the mark of a higher form of establishment

THE FOOD

Having heard a lot about the chello kebabs here, it was the first thing which we decided to try out and boy did it not disappoint. Apart from the kebabs we also went for a Chicken dish cooked in the Peshwari style and a classic Chicken Steak to remind ourselves how much we really love the traditional american style of food as well.

The iconic chelo kebab is the most promising dish of Peter Cat and a must-try for all!

The peshwari chicken dish is no less, augmented by a good amount of butter and kebabs on the side, this one was definitely worth the hype.

Finally the chicken steak was something which we really wanted to try and although Peter Cat is not a place which specializes in sizzlers and steaks, but to our surprise, the steak was really well cooked and balanced in taste. It was served with a decent amount of sides and a nice poached egg on the top.

All in all, it was really amazing place to check out and the food definitely lives upto the hype. If you are someone who lives in Kolkata or is visiting Kolkata for a short trip, I would definitely recommend checking this place out once.
