It was one of those weekends when the new-year of 2020 was drawing in and staying at home meant being stuck in the vicious cycle of office-home-office. So me and one of my friends took a somewhat random decision to pick up a scooty on rent and drive to Mulshi Lake. The destination we had in mind would offer us a panoramic view of the entire lake with the sun-setting in at the perfect angle while we would sit back and relax.
Mulshi was ~100 kms from where we stay, so we set out on the scooty at about 12 PM braving the initial traffic and then moving on to the highways with nothing but lush green fields on both sides. The road journey to Mulshi is kind of a mixed bag with around 30% of the road being really well-built and having awesome scenic views on either sides while the other 70% is really broken and badly built offering bumpy rides where you need to really hold on.

Figuring out roads via Google maps along with the initial wrong turns finally took us to a resort where we parked our scooty and took our seats in a nicely built cafe/restaurant with an epic view with slowly served but well cooked kebabs. To our surprise most of the items on the menu were not available, but the ones that were available, kind of blew our expectations.

With the awesome views adding on to the overall experience, we tried the different kebab platters. While i really enjoyed the angara kebab, my friend was more inclined towards the hara-bhara kebab. Both of them were really good and cooked really well. Zen Spring Resort, the place where we had settled ourselves offered some breathtaking views from the nearby cliff partitions and we just gradually settled ourselves to take in all that marvel of nature.

Watching the sunset from this place was truly an amazing experience. We did not have any DSLRs with us and hence most of the above pictures are probably not doing justice to the actual spot. But one has to be there, present in that exact moment to truly experience the surreal atmosphere of the place. Apart from the view from the resort, there's also an exciting bridge which acts as a gateway to the place. The bridge also offers an awesome view and in turn acts as a spot for some awesome Instagram worthy shots!

Overall the trip turned out to be a really great one. Lake Mulshi is a really good buzzworthy place which should make it into one of the top 10 places to visit on a weekend if one is in Pune. Also, do remember to carry winter clothing especially since it's get really cold if one is driving back from the place on a two-wheeler at night.
